Pamir Highway
The Pamir Highway (M41) stretches 1,250 km from Dushanbe, Tajikistan to Osh, Kyrgyzstan. It is the second-highest international highway in the world. Once part of the ancient Silk Road, the highway traverses the Pamir Mountains and runs near the borders of Afghanistan, China, and Pakistan. With passes over 4,000 meters, it offers extreme terrain and breathtaking views. Along the route are hot springs, alpine lakes, and remote mountain villages. It’s considered one of the world’s most challenging and rewarding road trips.
