Independence Square
Independence Square is the central square of Tashkent, symbolizing Uzbekistan’s national pride and sovereignty. It was renamed in 1992 after the country’s independence. At the heart of the square stands the Monument of Independence — a bronze globe featuring Uzbekistan’s map. In front of it is a statue of a mother and child, representing the homeland and future. The square is surrounded by government buildings, fountains, flower beds, and the Arch of Independence adorned with stork sculptures. It hosts national celebrations, military parades, and official events.
