Sacred Heart of Jesus Cathedral
The Sacred Heart of Jesus Cathedral in Tashkent is a Roman Catholic church built in the early 20th century, known for its Gothic architectural style. Construction began in 1912, and the cathedral was consecrated by Archbishop Marian Oles on October 22, 2000. Often referred to as the “Polish Church,” it features stained glass windows, rooftop turrets, an arched entrance, and a library and lounge named after Pope John Paul II. In 1981, it was officially recognized as an architectural and historical monument of Uzbekistan. It belongs to the Apostolic Administration of Uzbekistan.
