Kyrgyz State History Museum

Located in the main square of Bishkek, the museum was established in 1925 as the Kyrgyzstan Central Museum. The museum's founder, which has changed names many times, is ethnographer Saul Abramzon. The name of the museum, which was called the Kyrgyzstan Central Museum between 1925 and 1933, was changed in 1933. It was renamed the State Regional Studies Museum. It served as the National Museum of Culture between 1943-1954. In 1954, the Kyrgyz SSR (Soviet Socialist Republic) was renamed the "State History Museum". in the museum Nearly 10 thousand original artifacts reflecting the history of the Kyrgyz Republic from the ancient Paleolithic period to the present are on display. This exhibition is considered one of the best museums in Central Asia in terms of scientific content and art. of the museum exterior renovation and landscaping was done by TIKA. The National History Museum was closed to visitors in 2016 due to renovations. TIKA, which has signed important projects in many fields throughout Kyrgyzstan, has undertaken the task of renovating the National History Museum. also undertaken. As part of the first phase of the project, the exterior of the museum was repaired. The floor of Ala-Too square, which is the largest and most important square in the city and located on the front of the museum, was renewed and decorated with Kyrgyz motifs. Around the museum lighting system was installed. In the second phase of the project, the interior of the museum was repaired and reorganized. The National History Museum of Kyrgyzstan, which was closed for 5.5 years, reopened its doors to visitors in November 2021.
